480+ Providers Trust Health Billing
Switching to Health Billing was the best operational decision we made. Collections jumped 42% in the first quarter, and AR days dropped from 52 to 19. Responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in our success.
Their denial management alone recovered over $380,000 in revenue we had already written off. We tried three billing companies before Health Billing. None came close. The ROI is extraordinary.
Their credentialing team got us enrolled with 14 payers in under 6 weeks. That's unheard of. Revenue has more than doubled since partnering with Health Billing - I wish we'd switched sooner.
We run a 9-provider behavioral health practice and our prior biller couldn't keep up with payer rules. Health Billing's coders know psych CPT inside-out - clean-claim rate went from 71% to 98% and our reimbursements per session climbed 19%.
As a 3-location urgent care, our AR was a nightmare - over $620K aged past 90 days. Their AR recovery team worked every single claim. We collected $478K in four months on balances we'd basically given up on.
Solo nephrology practice here - I needed a billing partner who actually understood dialysis MCP billing and CKD coding. Health Billing nailed it from day one. Monthly reports are clear, my dedicated account manager picks up the phone, and revenue is up 31%.

Everything Doctors Ask Us - Answered
Honest answers to the questions we hear from physicians, group practices, and hospital CFOs every single week.
Three structural differences. (1) Specialty-aligned coders - your account is staffed by AAPC/AHIMA-certified coders who only work your specialty (cardiology coders for cardiology, ortho for ortho), not a generalist pool. (2) Daily denial work - denials are touched within 24 hours, not parked for the end-of-month report. (3) Transparent dashboards - you see every claim, every denial reason, every dollar in real time. No black-box "monthly summary."
Most practices are fully live in 5–10 business days. Your staff's involvement is minimal: a 60-minute kickoff call, a credentials/EHR access handoff, and a 30-minute workflow walkthrough. We do the heavy lifting - clearinghouse setup, payer enrollment migrations, fee schedule loads, charge-capture mapping, and parallel-run validation. You keep seeing patients; we move the billing engine underneath you.
No. We run a two-week parallel transition: your current process continues while we mirror every claim, so nothing falls through. Most clients actually see increased deposits in month one because we immediately work the aged AR your previous biller was ignoring. We also guarantee no submission gaps in writing as part of the SLA.
Simple percentage-of-collections model - typically 3% to 7% depending on specialty, volume, and payer mix. We only earn when you collect. No setup fees, no monthly minimums, no per-claim charges, no long-term contracts. Credentialing, AR cleanup, and reporting are included. The only line item outside the percentage is optional add-ons like full-service medical coding or transcription, which are quoted up front.
Across our book of business, practices that switch from in-house or another billing company see a 20–40% net collections improvement within 90 days. The lift comes from four levers: higher first-pass acceptance (we run at 93.2%), aggressive denial recovery, identification of underpayments against contracted rates, and recovery of aged AR over 90 days that was previously written off. We model your specific upside in the free audit before you commit to anything.
Yes - we integrate with 100+ platforms including Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo/Tebra, DrChrono, NextGen, Allscripts/Veradigm, AdvancedMD, Practice Fusion, Meditech, CureMD, OfficeAlly, and more. If your platform isn't on the list, we'll build the integration at no charge during onboarding. We can work read-only, write-back, or via SFTP - whatever your IT prefers.
Yes - HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2 Type II certified, and a signed BAA is included with every engagement. PHI is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), stored on US-based infrastructure, with role-based access controls and full audit logging. We undergo annual third-party penetration testing and quarterly internal access reviews. Your compliance officer can request our SOC 2 report and security questionnaire on day one.
Your account manager, denials team, and AR specialists are US-based, headquartered in Jersey City, NJ. Some routine charge-entry work is performed by our credentialed offshore team under direct US supervision - this keeps your pricing competitive without compromising quality. PHI handling, payer escalations, and patient-facing communications are 100% US-based. You always speak to a US team member.
40+ specialties including primary care, cardiology, orthopedics, nephrology, oncology, behavioral health/psychiatry, neurology, radiology, pathology/lab, ophthalmology, OB/GYN, pediatrics, urgent care, ED, PT/OT, anesthesia, pain management, dermatology, gastroenterology, and surgery (general & subspecialty). We also support ASCs, hospitals, FQHCs, RHCs, DME suppliers, and independent labs.
Every denial is triaged within 24 hours and routed to a specialist by denial category - clinical (medical necessity, coding), administrative (auth, eligibility, COB), or payer-specific. We work the root cause, not just the resubmission: appeals are written by certified coders with payer-specific medical-necessity language, and recurring denial patterns are fed back into our edits engine so the same denial doesn't happen twice. Average recovery rate on previously denied claims: 67%.
The opposite. You get a real-time dashboard showing charges, payments, AR aging, denial rates, payer mix, top CPT performance, provider productivity, and net collection rate - drillable down to the individual claim. We deliver a 30-minute monthly performance review with your dedicated account manager, plus on-demand custom reports for your CFO or board. Everything is exportable.
Yes, end-to-end: CAQH setup and maintenance, NPI registration, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, commercial payer enrollment, hospital privileging support, re-credentialing, and ongoing roster maintenance. New providers are typically fully credentialed in 60–90 days (versus the 120–180 industry average). Included for clients on our full RCM package; available standalone for new practices and provider additions.
Both. We handle full patient AR: statement generation, online payment portal (branded to your practice), payment plans, automated reminders by SMS/email, and live phone support staffed by US patient-services reps. Patients have one number to call with billing questions - and it's not your front desk. Average patient collection rate: +38% versus in-house.
No. We serve solo physicians all the way up to 500-provider hospital systems. Roughly 40% of our clients are 1–5 provider practices. Our pricing scales - solo practitioners pay the same percentage rate as a multi-site group, with the same dedicated account manager and same dashboards. There's no minimum revenue requirement.
Month-to-month with a 30-day out clause. No long-term commitment, no exit penalties, no clawback on collected AR. If we don't perform, you leave - and we hand off all data, denials in flight, and AR work-in-progress to your next biller in a clean transition packet. We earn the renewal every month.
30 minutes of your time. Send us a recent AR aging report and a sample of recent EOBs/denials (de-identified is fine). Within 5 business days we deliver a written report covering: estimated leakage, top 5 fixable denial categories, underpayment exposure against your top contracts, and a projected revenue recovery range. Zero cost, zero obligation, no sales pressure. You can use the findings to improve your in-house team if you decide not to outsource.

Medical Coding by
Certified Specialists
CPC, CCS, and CPMA-credentialed coders across 40+ specialties. Accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding that maximizes reimbursement while maintaining full compliance.
Every Code Has a Dollar Value.
We Capture All of It.
Upcoding creates liability. Downcoding leaves money on the table. Incorrect codes trigger denials, audits, and compliance investigations. Our certified coders assign the right codes, with the right modifiers, every time.
- ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding to highest specificity
- CPT-4 procedure coding for all specialties
- HCPCS Level II coding (DME, drugs, supplies)
- E&M visit level determination and documentation review
- Surgical and procedural coding with modifier assignment
- Outpatient and inpatient facility coding
- DRG assignment and optimization for hospitals
- Clinical documentation improvement (CDI) queries
- Pre- and post-payment coding audits
- Coding compliance program development
Why Coding Accuracy is Mission-Critical
A single missing ICD-10 digit can turn a valid claim into a denial. A wrong CPT modifier can cut your reimbursement by 50%. Our coders average 8+ years of specialty-specific experience and maintain continuous AAPC/AHIMA certification.
Specialty-Specific Coding Teams
Cardiology codes differently from orthopedics. Oncology requires a different knowledge base than behavioral health. We assign coders who specialize in your exact service lines - not generalists covering everything.
Audit-Ready Documentation
Every code we assign is traceable to specific documentation. In the event of a payer audit or OIG review, you have a complete, defensible record of every coding decision.

Provider Credentialing &
Payer Enrollment Services
Every day a provider isn't credentialed is revenue lost. We enroll with Medicare, Medicaid, and every major private insurer - faster than anyone else in the business.
Credentialing Delays Cost You Thousands. We Eliminate the Wait.
A new provider who isn't credentialed can't bill. An expired CAQH attestation can cost you payer contracts. Our credentialing specialists manage every detail so your providers are enrolled, active, and generating revenue on schedule.
- Medicare Part A & B enrollment (CMS-855 applications)
- All 50 state Medicaid programs enrollment
- All major commercial payer credentialing
- CAQH profile setup and continuous re-attestation
- NPI registration (Type 1 & 2) and taxonomy management
- Group practice enrollment and re-credentialing
- Hospital privilege applications and peer review
- State medical license verification and tracking
- DEA and CDS registration management
- TRICARE, CHAMPVA, and VA Community Care enrollment
- Credentialing status tracking and proactive expiration alerts
Provider Data Collection
We gather all required documentation: licenses, DEA, malpractice, NPI, training certificates, and work history. Our checklist ensures nothing is missed on the first submission.
CAQH Profile Management
Complete CAQH setup or audit of existing profiles. Continuous re-attestation monitoring - we alert you 60 days before expiration and re-attest automatically.
Payer Application Submission
Simultaneous enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, and all targeted commercial payers. Payer-specific applications prepared correctly the first time.
Active Weekly Follow-Up
Weekly payer follow-up from day one. We escalate when payers stall. Our relationships with credentialing departments move applications faster.
Enrollment Confirmation & Activation
We confirm effective dates, obtain provider IDs, and update your billing system immediately so billing can begin the same day enrollment is confirmed.
28-Day Average Enrollment
vs. 90+ days managed in-house. We know the payers, portals, and people.
Zero Application Errors
Dual-review before every submission. Incomplete applications are the #1 cause of delays - we eliminate them.
Proactive Expiration Monitoring
We track every license, DEA, and CAQH attestation - alerting you 60–90 days before expiration.
Protect Your Revenue
Each unresolved credentialing issue costs $10K–$50K/month in delayed billing. We keep that number at zero.
New Provider? Credentialing Backlog? We Can Help.
Whether onboarding one provider or fifty, we handle the entire credentialing process so your team can focus on patient care.
Denial Management &
Claims Appeals Services
The average provider writes off 3–5% of gross revenue as uncollectible denials. That's money you've earned - and we recover it. Our resolution rate is 93.4%.
Most Denied Claims Are Recoverable. We Prove It.
65% of denied claims are never reworked - they're written off. Health Billing's denial management team doesn't accept denial as a final answer. We investigate, document, appeal, and escalate until every recoverable dollar is collected.
- Root-cause categorization of all denial types
- First-level appeal letters with clinical documentation
- Second-level and peer-to-peer review coordination
- External appeals and state Insurance Department complaints
- Authorization and medical necessity appeals
- Timely filing appeals with proof of prior submission
- Underpayment identification and payer dispute letters
- Monthly denial scorecards and root-cause reports
- Front-end process improvements to prevent recurrence
Top 7 Denial Reasons - And How We Fix Them
1. Missing/invalid patient info → front-end verification. 2. Authorization issues → retroactive auth + medical necessity appeals. 3. Duplicates → claim history audit. 4. Timely filing → recovery with proof of submission. 5. Coding errors → corrected claims with certified coder review. 6. Medical necessity → clinical appeal letters. 7. COB issues → proper claim sequencing.
Prevention Is Better Than Cure
We don't just recover denied claims - we eliminate the conditions that cause them. Monthly denial reports identify patterns, and we work with your front desk and clinical teams to stop errors from recurring. Most clients see 50%+ reduction in denial rate within 6 months.
Government Payer Appeals
Medicare and Medicaid appeals have strict processes - Redeterminations, Reconsiderations, ALJ hearings. We navigate every level with precision, maximizing recoveries from government payer denials.

Let us review your last 90 days of denied claims and show you exactly how much is recoverable - completely free.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Recovery & Follow-Up
Aging AR is silent revenue leakage. Our AR recovery team hunts down every balance - regardless of age - and brings it to resolution.

- 60/90/120/180+ day aging bucket management

- Secondary insurance identification and billing

- AR cleanup projects for practices switching billing companies
AR Analysis & Stratification
We segment all open AR by payer, aging bucket, denial reason, and dollar value. Each segment gets a tailored follow-up protocol.

Patient Balance Management
Automated statements, outbound calls, and payment plan setup. Collecting patient balances compliantly without damaging relationships.

Medical Billing for Every Department
and Every Type of Clinic
Primary care, urgent care, nephrology, cardiology, OB/GYN, pediatrics, behavioral health, labs, imaging, surgery centers, and specialty groups all have different codes, payer rules, authorizations, and denial patterns. Health Billing builds department-specific billing workflows so every visit, procedure, test, and follow-up is coded, submitted, appealed, and collected correctly.
Built Around How Each Specialty Actually Gets Paid
A primary care clinic loses revenue differently than a nephrology group. Urgent care needs speed, OB/GYN needs package accuracy, cardiology needs documentation and modifier precision, while behavioral health needs authorization and parity-aware follow-up. We create a custom billing lane for every department.

How We Increase Collections
1. Verify Before the Visit
We confirm active coverage, copay, deductible, authorization requirements, referral rules, and coordination of benefits before claims are created.
2. Submit Clean Claims
Claims are checked for coding, modifiers, medical necessity, provider enrollment, place of service, payer edits, and documentation gaps.
3. Follow Up by Payer and Aging Bucket
Open AR is worked by payer, dollar value, denial reason, timely filing risk, and 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90, 90 plus day buckets.
4. Appeal Denials and Underpayments
We prepare appeal packets, attach clinical documentation, cite payer policy, correct coding issues, and pursue payer reconsideration.
5. Post, Reconcile, and Report
ERA and EOB payments are posted daily, underpayments are flagged, patient responsibility is moved correctly, and monthly payer performance is reported.
Private Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, We Collect Across All of Them.
Let us review your payer mix and AR aging to show which insurance companies are holding your money.
Medical Billing Collections Calculator
Estimate how much more your clinic may collect by improving clean claim rate, denial follow-up, AR recovery, and net collection performance. This is a planning calculator, actual collections depend on payer mix, specialty, contracts, documentation, and claim history.
